In the summer of 2015, the French Institute in Copenhagen moved to new premises. We were asked to create relevant spaces to be housed in the new building, located in the heart of the Danish capital’s Latin Quarter.
Along with classes and offices for the administration, we designed a lobby with a reception area flanked by a multi-purposed platform. The 2-level zigzag-shaped oak plateau and space around it were conceived so that they could be used as a venue for a wide remit of activities and events such as exhibitions, concerts, lectures, readings… Hence, designed and aimed to accomodate an eclectic audience with a varying number of guests.
As an addition to the curation of the space, we also stood for all the visuals, signage and wayfinding in the new institute.
